LunexStudio privacy policy

Effective 11 October 2026

The short version

LunexStudio edits your photos and videos on your own devices. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it never sends anything to its developer or to anyone else. Your work moves only between your own devices, through your own iCloud account or your own local network, or when you choose to share or export it.

What LunexStudio does with your photos and videos

Editing, colour grading, LUTs, video editing and exporting all happen on your device. Nothing is uploaded for processing.

Edits to photos in your Photos library are saved back to the library as Apple's standard non-destructive adjustments, so the original is always kept and you can revert at any time.

The Info view reads the details already stored in a photo, such as camera settings, location, copyright and any LunexCam consent fields, and shows them to you. It doesn't send them anywhere. When you export, you choose whether to keep all metadata, remove location, keep only copyright and consent details, or remove it all.

What LunexStudio stores

Your LUTs, saved presets, video projects, imported files, shots received from LunexCam and the music you add to projects.

Your settings, such as export preferences and whether Live is on.

If iCloud Drive is on for LunexStudio, these are kept in your own iCloud Drive (in the Lunex folder) so they appear on your other devices. Otherwise they stay on this device. iCloud is provided by Apple under your Apple Account's terms; LunexStudio's developer has no access to it.

Live from LunexCam

When you turn on Live, LunexStudio makes itself visible on your local network so LunexCam on your iPhone can send it shots as you take them. Shots travel directly between your devices, encrypted with the six-digit pairing code. They never go through the internet or any server.

Turning Live off stops this immediately. You can make a new pairing code at any time, after which LunexCam must be paired again.

Permissions

Photos: to show your library, open photos and videos for editing, save your edits back to them and save exports. LunexStudio only reads what you open or browse in the app.

Local network: only for Live, to receive shots from LunexCam on your own network.

Files: only the files you choose to import or export.

You can change these at any time in Settings on iPhone and iPad, or in System Settings › Privacy & Security on Mac.

Sharing

Nothing is shared automatically. A photo, video or file leaves LunexStudio only when you share or export it yourself, for example through the share sheet, AirDrop, the Files app or your Photos library. Once shared, it's handled by whoever you send it to and under the terms of the service you use.

Children

LunexStudio isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect any information from anyone.

Deleting your information

You can delete any LUT, preset, project or file in the app. Deleting LunexStudio removes everything it stored on that device. Copies in your iCloud Drive can be removed in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage. Edits saved to your Photos library stay there until you revert them in LunexStudio or Photos.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will appear in the app with a new date.
